The Elk River,  formerly known as Cowskin,  is located in Southwest Missouri near Noel and Pineville and flows down into Northeast Oklahoma,  eventually flowing into Grand Lake. The Elk River is 35.2 miles long and is known for its clear waters,  fishing and great floating. The Elk river is rated as class II difficulty.
