White Water: I | Difficulty: II
Big Sugar Creek is known for its crystal clear waters, fishing and camping benefits. Big Sugar Creek is a tributary to the Elk River and is located east of Pineville, MO. Big Sugar Creek provides 24 miles of floatable access during the spring and summer seasons and is classified as class II difficulty. Not only does it provide floating opportunities, but also provides wonderful scenery including bluffs and caves. You can also find several swimming holes and campgrounds along the creek as well.
Note: Never float on high water! If water is brown or has floating debris stay out of the water.
Note: A Creek/River’s environment will change constantly. Always use caution and follow all safety procedures when floating. Access Points may cost parking fees depending on location.
Due to the lack of parking and stories of people having vehicles towed along public right away. I recommend that you use a shuttling service.
